The Respiratory Therapists at Providence Health have a higly challenging and responsible role. From arterial line insertions and intubations, to manipulating oscillator parameters to improve patient outcome.
Our Role

The departments within Respiratory Services are responsible for providing a broad range of high quality cardio-respiratory care to meet the hospital in-patient and out-patient needs, both at St. Paul’s and Mt. St. Joseph Hospitals. The primary service to be offered is in the critical care areas with other major areas of involvement that includes cardiovascular perfusion, pulmonary diagnostics including sleep disorders, Asthma Clinic, general therapeutics including home care, and soon to be implemented high risk delivery and ventilation in our Level II nursery. The functional departments of Respiratory Services are:

2.Pulmonary Diagnostics Department
Medical direction is provided by consultants in respiratory medicine, critical care medicine, cardiovascular surgery, and anaesthesia. Respiratory Services is devoted to the scientific application of technology in order to assist the physician in the diagnosis, treatment, management, and care of patients with cardio-respiratory and other associated disorders.
